Dawg Defense Ready To Repeat

Ever since Georgia closed out last season with a victory over Hawaii in the Sugar Bowl, talk of winning the national title this season has swirled all over the country.

Most are saying the team will need big seasons from Matthew Stafford and Knowshon Moreno to make that happen, but coach Mark Richt says it will come down to depth and defense.

Richt says his defense will have to be just as stingy this season as it was to close out 2007.

However, he believes not just depth, but experienced depth, that will be a major factor in the Bulldogs making a run at the title.

Richt expressed, “Everybody is gonna have so many players at each position. But do you have enough that have played to if one guys gets hurt or tired another guy is in there. And we have that luxury in a lot of positions. You get too many injuries at one given spot where you thought you all of a sudden are holding on for dear life.”

Coach Richt added he’s also eager to see redshirt freshman kicker Brian Behr kick the football.
